Olivia May O’Connor

I am a creative and versatile Textile Design Graduate from The Edinburgh College of Art. I have been studying textiles full time now for 6 years and am truly passionate about my craft.

I believe our homes are our sanctuaries, they are incredibly personal places that deserve to be beautiful, tell a thousand stories and reflect our individuality.

Collecting is a huge part of my life. Ever since I can remember I have collected 'things'. Nothing of any real importance or significance to most, but things that caught my eye; excited or inspired me, evoked emotion and fed my curiosity.
This is now a major part of my work, I love to collate exciting & captivating research; and pull it together into something that will draw people in and tell a story or create an atmosphere.
I'm passionate about creating personal, beautiful and visually stimulating Textiles that will excite and inspire others.

Using the knowledge I have gained throughout my degree, working with colour, scale, texture and placement, aswell as the appreciation I have always had for historic, traditional and iconic Textiles. I love to begin a design my hand drawing the design and finishing the look with beautiful finishings and styling.
